Depth of Field
when i was using my macro tubes, i decided to play around with the aperture and try out the effect of deep and shallow depths of field and too see which would be more useful for my final photo's. i decided that if it was too shallow there wouldn't be enough detail to see the whole of the object in the foreground and possibly no detail in the background, and if it was too deep it wouldn't have a soft enough look to it such as what i am aiming for. Below are two pairs of images, one with the deepest depth of field i could get and then one to get it to where i thought it looked nice.
deepest Depth of Field (DoF) |
nice DoF as to still make out the background object but to give it a nice soft feel |
deepest DoF |
nice soft DoF but retaining recognition |
Practice photo's
i've been playing around with my extension tubes for macro using an old lens with an aperture ring so i can manually change the aperture myself, below are a few of the photo's i took using my camera set up on a tripod because i was using a small aperture to maximise depth of field, but would have to have a much longer exposure so i would need the tripod to avoid camera shake.

Ideas
So far i have come up with the idea for my final image. in a couple of the pictures from my research the photographer has used a small origami crane on thread and coloured material or coloured wool. I am planning to make a few different origami animals / objects and see which works best, and then purchase or find colourful backgrounds and coloured thread.

Research
I chose to do my "Inspired By" project inspired by some of the photo's by "Malgorzata krawczyk". she is a 27 year old photographer from Krakow in poland. The photo's i chose which my photo's will be based around the similar style of, are bright colourful photo's mainly with a small object in the foreground in perfect focus, and colourful background generally made of thread and other colourful objects, these are some of the photo's mine will be based around.
